Product Description
Phoenix Dancong is one of the most aromatic and diverse styles of Chinese oolong tea. Among its many fragrance types, the Shuixian (Narcissus) aroma stands out with its long-lasting floral depth and mellow tea energy. Unlike sweet floral varieties like orchid or osmanthus, Shuixian offers a subtle elegance, combining soft, moist floral notes with hints of natural wood and mountain mist.
This tea is made from spring-picked tender leaves, harvested by hand from old arbor tea trees on high mountain slopes of Phoenix Mountain. Crafted through traditional charcoal roasting and light-to-medium fermentation, the dry leaves are tightly twisted with a dark, lustrous appearance. Once brewed, the tea liquor appears bright orange-gold, releasing a full-bodied aroma from the gaiwan lid.
Its fragrance unfolds in layers:
Top notes present the signature narcissus floral tone, with undertones of honey and light woodiness;
Mid-palate develops into gentle stone fruit aromas;
Later infusions return to the pure essence of the tea base, rich with mountain character.
The mouthfeel is smooth and full-bodied, with a soft, rounded texture and a long-lasting sweet aftertaste. It leaves a lingering aroma on the palate with virtually no bitterness or astringency.
This tea is ideal for traditional gongfu-style brewing in a gaiwan, which brings out its intricate fragrance and evolving body. Perfect for mindful sipping alone or sharing with friends in slow conversation.
