Product Description:

Mengding Huangya is a famous and historic yellow tea from China, produced in Mengding Mountain, Ya’an, Sichuan. First created during the Tang Dynasty, it is named for its “yellow color and robust buds.” As one of the most representative and culturally significant yellow teas in China, it has been an imperial tribute tea throughout history and is known as the “Immortal Tea.”

This tea is made from tender single buds picked in early spring, carefully processed through pan-frying, “yellowing” (controlled oxidation), and drying. The dry leaves are straight like needles, with a glossy yellow-green color. When brewed, the tea liquor is bright amber, with a lasting fresh aroma and a smooth, mellow flavor.

The initial infusion is fresh and crisp, with hints of chestnut and floral notes, offering a gentle and silky mouthfeel. The mid-infusions turn mellow and full-bodied, leaving a lingering aftertaste. The final cup is light, clear, and elegant, almost without any bitterness. Overall, Mengding Huangya combines the unique “yellowed” charm of yellow tea with the freshness of green tea, presenting a refined and enduring style.

Mengding Huangya is best brewed in a glass cup, allowing the buds to unfurl beautifully and the tea liquor to remain clear, making it both visually appealing and delightful to drink.
