Product Description
Da Hong Pao is one of the most iconic and revered teas among all Wuyi rock teas, often hailed as the “King of Rock Tea.” Its name originates from the legendary ancient tea trees on the cliffside, while its flavor is a reflection of the rugged beauty of the Wuyi mountains. It strikes a masterful balance between floral fragrance and roasted depth, with a rich aftertaste that lingers on the palate.
This Da Hong Pao is selected from core tea gardens within the authentic Zhengyan region, crafted using high-temperature charcoal roasting with multiple re-firing stages. The process is mature and refined, producing a tea with a classic Wuyi profile. The dry leaves are tightly rolled with a dark, glossy appearance; once brewed, the liquor is bright reddish and crystal clear, releasing a high and lasting aroma.
The fragrance develops in distinct layers:
Early steeps: Lifted but smooth, with intertwined orchid, fruit, and roasted notes
Middle steeps: Rich, mellow body with quick and lasting sweetness
Later steeps: Deep tea energy, slight tongue-tingling sensation, with a strong mineral "rock rhyme" and lingering throat feel
