Product Description:
The "Complex Aroma" variety is one of the most intricate and multilayered types of Phoenix Dancong oolong, often harvested from old, high-altitude tea trees. Due to unique growing conditions and tea tree cultivars, the infusion expresses a sophisticated layering of orchid, fruit, honey, and woody notes—resembling a fragrant perfume with a lingering finish.
This tea is picked exclusively once a year in early spring from ancient high-mountain tea trees (unlike other oolongs which may have spring, summer, or winter harvests). It is then crafted using traditional charcoal roasting and a multi-stage light-to-medium fermentation process. The dry leaves appear dark green with a glossy sheen and tight, twisted strands. Once brewed, the liquor is bright golden-orange with a deeply aromatic and well-balanced complexity.
The first three infusions highlight vibrant orchid, peach, and ripe fruit aromas. As the steeps progress, the fragrance transitions into rich woody and charcoal-roasted notes. The texture is smooth and dense, with a clean, sweet taste and a long-lasting finish—virtually free of bitterness or astringency.
Best brewed using the gongfu tea method in a gaiwan, this tea reveals a full spectrum of evolving aroma and flavor—ideal for seasoned tea drinkers seeking depth and exploration.
