Product Description:

Bingdao Lao Zhai is one of the most renowned core production areas of Pu-erh tea in Shuangjiang, Lincang, Yunnan. Blessed with ancient tea trees and a unique terroir, it produces teas that are sweet, aromatic, and soft yet powerful—earning its reputation as the “Jewel of Sheng Pu-erh.”

This tea is crafted from ancient spring buds (one bud with two leaves), sun-dried using traditional methods to retain its natural vitality.

The dry leaves are tightly knotted and plump, dark green with silvery tips. Once brewed, the liquor is bright golden and crystal clear. The taste is smooth, sweet, and refreshing, with a rock sugar sweetness running throughout. The early infusions deliver uplifting floral and fruity notes, while the later infusions develop into a thicker, mellow liquor with lingering aftertaste and returning sweetness (hui gan). The overall character is refined yet rich, balancing the strength of old trees with graceful elegance.

Brewing Guide (Gaiwan Gongfu Method):

• Use 5–7 grams of tea

• Add 200 ml of water at 95–100°C

• First rinse: quick wash for 8–10 seconds (not for drinking)

• From the second infusion, steep for 5–10 seconds longer with each brew

• Can be brewed over 12 infusions, with sweetness lingering throughout
