This Banzhang Wild Large-Leaf Raw Pu-erh, produced by Zhongcha in 2004, is crafted from wild large-leaf sun-dried maocha from the famed Banzhang region of Menghai, a benchmark area for classic “Banzhang flavor.”
The dry leaves are thick, bold, and dark brown with oily luster, showing early signs of aged charm. Once brewed, the tea liquor turns deep orange-gold, rich and transparent. The smoky aroma is bold yet layered, while the taste is powerful and heavy, with a pronounced bitterness that quickly transforms into strong returning sweetness (hui gan) and long-lasting throat resonance.
